Susan G. Komen Charlotte’s 2020 Build for the Cure Arrives in Hollins Grove
Eric Johnson of E.S. Johnson Builders is proud to announce their seventh Build for the Cure show home to be built in the Hollins Grove Community in Huntersville, NC. Build for the Cure is the Charity established by Eric Johnson of E.S. Johnson Builders, a long time Lake Norman Custom Home Builder that builds show homes to raise awareness and funds for the Susan G. Komen Charlotte Affiliate, the global leader of the breast cancer movement.
As the largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, they are working together to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures.
This is the seventh Build for the Cure home to be built as others have been built on Lake Wylie, Springfield in Fort Mill, two in River Run Country Club in Davidson NC and two in Palm Beach Gardens through Mr. Johnson’s close friend Brett Handler of Dreamstar Custom Homes.
The home will feature great products and design elements that reflect today’s lifestyles. Groundbreaking will take place in June of 2019 and the home is expected to be completed by Winter of 2020 with the home being open for a Home Tour in late February 2020 for viewing and fund-raising opportunities. This year, E.S. Johnson Builders is teaming with long time, award winning Interior Designer, Wendy Yeakley, principal designer and owner of Homestyles Interior Design. Together, this talented design team, with once again create a wonderful show home.

Komen Charlotte raises funds through events such as the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®; Laugh for the Cure®; and a variety of community events hosted by community corporate partners, small business, faith communities, schools and volunteer organizations. Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds generated by the affiliate stay in the service area.
In 2018, $906,000 million is being distributed to 17 service agencies to provide free mammograms and a continuum of breast health services to underinsured and uninsured people in our service area. The remaining 25 percent of money raised is used to fund cutting-edge breast cancer research.
