6 Ways To Celebrate Easter 2020 in Charlotte From Home

Celebrate Easter

We will all celebrate Easter 2020 in Charlotte a bit differently than usual this year. But it’s also a lovely reminder to celebrate life, springtime, and whatever spiritual and religious importance this holiday may bring you.

However you choose to enjoy the Easter holiday, we hope you’ll enjoy a few of these simple (and fun!) ways to ring it in from home.

Cook a seder dinner at home:

This year’s Passover begins at sundown on April 8. This is a time that commemorates the Jews’ exodus from Egypt with a ritual meal, called the seder. This year, you can prepare the traditional meal from home with a few simple ingredients and recipes. For instance, you can make Matzo ball soup, brisket, and spring vegetables.

Order in a chef-prepared meal:

Several Charlotte restaurants and purveyors are doing the hard work over for you. They are offering fully prepared gourmet Easter meals. Call ahead and schedule to pick up your meal before Sunday.

Stream a service:

Many individual parishes as well as nationally and internationally known church organizations plan to offer streamed services. Hop on YouTube Live, Facebook Live, and other streaming services for your Easter Sunday.

Call or write your loved ones:

In celebration of the holiday, contact someone you love. Regardless of how you choose to celebrate, it’s a nice time to write a letter or pick up the phone to tell someone in your family how much you love them.

Dye & hide Easter eggs inside or in your yard:

A childhood favorite that can easily be done from home with adults and children alike: hardboil some eggs, break out the food dye, and get creative. Then, stage an egg hunt that’s as elaborate or as simple as you like, with prizes for the most eggs found of course!

Start a new tradition:

This year, with more time spent at home, is also a wonderful time to begin a new Easter tradition with your family (or even alone!). Cook up an elaborate brunch, try your hand at a traditional Easter bread or dessert recipe, get dressed up in your finest, donate to a charity close to your heart… whatever speaks to you this year, you can return to again and again, creating a tradition you’ll remember for many years to come.
