Get ready to sweat at the Charlotte Indoor Tennis Club

The Charlotte Indoor Tennis Club is a club that offers people of all ages the chance to learn and play tennis as well as get fit with one-hour fitness sessions. They have both indoor and outdoor facilities so you can play all year round.

Enroll in a group exercise class at your local YMCA, like yoga, cycling, or dance.

The YMCA has so many unique healthy activities in Charlotte. It is in most communities and offers fitness opportunities for all: Our local Charlotte branches are no different. As a member, you have access to tons of classes at no additional charge: Their fitness program includes Crossfit, yoga, HIIT workouts, group exercise, and more. The YMCA is a way to both support the community and to either start your fitness journey or simply continue it.

Hike the trails at Freedom Park

Freedom Park is one of Charlotte’s many: Just three miles from Uptown, the park covers 98 acres, with more than enough space for you to enjoy all the park has to offer. In the winter months, bundle up and hit the hiking trails, batting cages, or enjoy a chilly picnic by the seven acre lake. If you like being outdoors this will assuredly be one of your favorite healthy activities in Charlotte.

Walk your dog or let them roam free at the McAlpine Creek Park

McAlpine Creek Park, located on Monroe Rd., has a little bit of everything for everyone. Covering 114 acres, the park has an off-leash dog park, a cross country course, a 1.5 mile nature trail, a two mile bike trail, and an outdoor fitness center. Bring the whole family (furry ones, too)

Bring some friends to skateboard at the Soul Ride Skatepark

If you want to test your skills, try picking up a new hobby this winter. Located in Concord, Soul Ride Skatepark offers private lessons and a freestyle skate park. They allow scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, and bikes. Admission is $7 per hour or $12 per day.

Take a trip to the Big Air Trampoline Park on Sardis Rd

Skip the gym and head down to Big Air. The indoor amusement park offers trampolines on all surfaces, a freestyle course, foam pits, and a ninja warrior course! No matter if it is rain or shine, you can always count on Big Air to give you an intense workout while having fun with your whole family.

Head on down to Inner Peaks in South End or Matthews 

This indoor rock climbing facility allows you to get a sweat on without having to brave the cold weather. Inner Peaks caters to people of all skill levels and ages. Take advantage of a single day pass or one of the memberships. This has to be one of our favorite healthy activities in Charlotte… and its just right down the street from our office 🙂

Get your groove on at the NC Dance District

Who doesn’t love dancing? NC Dance District offers hip-hop dance classes to people of all skill levels. Break a sweat while grooving to the music with industry-style choreography.

Get your sweat on at Jamie Scott Fitness

Get a little extra bang for your buck with a gym that offers personal training, nutrition services and group fitness classes. Jamie Scott Fitness offers over 60 classes per week from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m, and first-time members rates.


Get your golf club handy for a round of indoor mini-golf at Stroke

Bring the whole family for a day full of fierce competition, or head out on a fun date night. Stroke has combined a golf course with a stylish speakeasy: Play an intense round of putt-putt and then grab dinner and drinks at the bar.

Skate on the ice at the Pineville Ice House

For perhaps the most fitting winter activity of all, this indoor ice skating facility offers ice skating and hockey for all skill levels. They offer lessons on skating, figure skating, and youth and adult hockey. Don’t forget to bring your helmet and a coat and get ready to shred the ice!

Grab your swimsuit and head on down to the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center. The center has a 50-meter competition pool, a 25-yard therapeutic pool, a hot tub and a fitness center. They also offer private and semi-private swim lessons.
