Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend brings together leading winemakers and chefs from around the world to celebrate and advance public knowledge of and appreciation for great wine and food, while making significant contributions to charitable organizations that benefit children and their families in the Charlotte community.

CWFW is now selling tickets to its four-day experience of fine wine and food benefiting local children and families in need.

Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend’s charitable endeavors focus on Nourishing Youth and Children, nurturing the whole child in body, mind and spirit. The beneficiaries of the 2017-2018 Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend are: Charlotte Concerts; The Council for Children’s Rights; Mitchell’s Fund; Pat’s Place Family Advocacy; and The Relatives.

“We are thrilled to announce our exciting line-up of events for what is sure to be the best year yet for Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend,” says Lauren Deese, the newly hired Executive Director of CWFW. “We are privileged to host some of the world’s leading vintners to pair with the best of Charlotte’s culinary talent.”

CWFW will be held April 18-21, 2018 in various restaurants and event venues around Charlotte. Attendees will taste an array of wines paired with unique food from the city’s hottest chefs, while supporting five child-focused charities in Charlotte through live and silent auctions featuring exclusive wine lots, dining and travel experiences, and other exciting packages.

With 2018 being CWFW’s 30th year of fundraising, attendees can expect a unique schedule of events that include signature CWFW staples with a fresh twist: in-home dinners, restaurant/vintner dinners, a Grand Tasting with silent auction, the ever-popular 1000-Point Tasting, and the finale event – the Grand Gala and Live Auction. 

This year’s Grand Gala, taking place at the Mint Museum Uptown on the evening of Saturday, April 21, is presented by Spire Collection, a curated selection of fine wines from around the globe. The 1000-Point Tasting will be held the morning of April 21, featuring ten 100-Point wines. Master Sommelier Laura Maniec, co-founder of Corkbuzz Restaurant & Wine Bar and star of the documentary, SOMM, will host the tasting. 

The Grand Tasting and Silent Auction on the evening of April 20 will bring together 100 wines from around the world and mouthwatering bites from Charlotte’s top culinary artisans at the Atrium at Two Wells Fargo Center.
