In preparation for the winter holidays, we present William Gran & Sons’ recipe for a delicious Mulled Wine Cocktail. It’s hot, it’s rich, and it’d probably get visions of sugarplums dancing in your head in the middle of July.
2 parts Reyka Vodka
¾ part Mulled Wine Syrup*
¾ part fresh lemon juice
Garnish: Star Anise
Mulled Wine Syrup – Bring 32oz Red Wine, 32oz Sugar, 4oz Mulling Spices (Cinnamon, cloves, ginger, orange peel and lemon peel) to a boil in a pot. Reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes. Let cool completely. Strain and bottle.
Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with star anise.
