Long after some of life’s most meaningful moments, the jewelry and timepieces that mark them are the wearable reminders of those people, places and memories. For Windsor Jewelers Charlotte, being a part of those stories has been the heart of the family business for 40 years.
Founded in Winston-Salem by Rob Simon in 1986, Windsor has spent four decades helping clients celebrate life’s biggest milestones with pieces designed to last for generations. Since opening its Charlotte showroom in 2013, Windsor has grown into one of the Carolinas’ premier independent jewelers. All the same, it remains deeply rooted in the values that first shaped the company.
“It’s a funny thing with Windsor turning 40 this year in 2026. You see, I just turned 40 myself in December 2025,” says Vice President Ben Simon. “My father, Rob, started Windsor essentially at the same time that I was born. So, it has been interesting to grow up alongside the business, almost like we are siblings in some senses.”

Today, that family legacy extends far beyond the Simon name. Windsor is part of countless family traditions. It helps clients commemorate engagements, anniversaries, graduations and the arrival of new children. In fact, Windsor Jewelers Charlotte often serves multiple generations of the same family along the way.
For Simon, that’s what gives fine jewelry and luxury timepieces their greatest value. While craftsmanship, design and heritage certainly matter, it’s the memories that transform each piece into something far more meaningful.
“The real ‘investment’ or ‘worth’ that an item has is really how it makes you feel, who it reminds you of, or it can be as simple as loving the artistry and design of the item,” he says.
The Windsor Jewelers Charlotte Experience
That philosophy also shapes the in-store experience. When nearly anything can be purchased with the click of a button, Windsor believes people still crave genuine human connection. Moreover, they seek the opportunity to experience exceptional craftsmanship firsthand. Whether admiring the intricate movement inside a mechanical watch or feeling the hand-finished details of a gold bracelet, the experience of stepping inside the shop is personal and unrushed.
“Our sales teams and our brands are the link between the item in front of the client and the emotion that the item brings out in the client,” Simon says.
Windsor represents some of the world’s most respected names in horology and jewelry. This includes Rolex, Patek Philippe, Rahaminov and Oscar Heyman. However, Simon says the company’s greatest source of pride isn’t found in its showcases, but in the people behind them.
“Our biggest sense of pride comes from our great teams in both Windsor locations,” he says. “The Windsor experience would not exist for our clients without the knowledge, passion, and hard work that our teams bring to our stores each day.”

Looking Toward the Next 40 Years
As Windsor Jewelers Charlotte celebrates its 40th anniversary, the focus remains firmly on the future. The company hopes to continue growing throughout the Carolinas. While doing so, though, it plans to stay true to the family-owned values that have guided it from the very beginning.
“We are from North Carolina and extremely rooted in the Carolinas,” Simon says. “We are looking forward to growing with North Carolina for many decades to come.”
