In fact, there are so many beautiful parks in the Charlotte area, they could not all be featured in just one article. See our last listings of Charlotte parks here and here. Marion Diehl Park

This park has a lot to offer in its beautiful 79 acres. With 13 tennis courts, a playground, a picnic shelter, walking trails, and field rentals, Marion has something for everyone.

Ramsey Creek Park

Ramsey Creek Park is 43.7 acres of waterfront paradise including a fishing pier, three picnic shelters, a horseshoe pit, a volleyball court, and 1.5 miles of walking trails. Plus, whether your baby is two or four-legged, Ramsey Creek has somewhere just for them with its four-acre dog park and tree-shaded playground.

Price: Entrance fee from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Monday through Thursday, County residents pay $5 per vehicle and Non-County residents pay $10 per vehicle. On weekends and holidays, County residents pay $10 per vehicle and Non-County residents pay $15 per vehicle. Walk-in Individuals who are 14 years old or older are $5 each, children who are 6-13 years old $3 each, and children under 6 years old are free. Those visiting the park with a dog are excluded from the entrance fee.

Edgehill Park

Edgehill is a 5.3-acre urban park in the historic Myers Park neighborhood of Charlotte. Featuring a tennis court, walking trails, a playground, and a picnic area, it is a lovely spot for a fun family day out or a unique date.

Reedy Creek Park

Spanning 146 acres, or over 100 football fields, this Charlotte park is a boredom-buster no matter what activities you’re interested in. Reedy Creek offers a lakeside meadow, a basketball court, two softball fields, a community garden, an 18-hole disc golf course, three ponds, nine outdoor picnic stations, and much more,

Independence Park 

Are you looking to get active with stunning surroundings?  Independence Park is the place for you with its baseball field, two tennis court, volleyball court, batting cage, and walking trails.

Wing Haven 

Located between Selwyn Avenue and Westfield Road, Wing Haven promises “an escape from Charlotte’s busy, urban lifestyle, as well as a look at Charlotte history from times past.” Admission includes access to the Wing Haven Garden and Bird Sanctuary, the SEED Wildlife and Children’s Garden, and the Elizabeth Lawrence House and Garden. 

Price: Free admission for members and children under the age of ten. $10 admission for visitors over ten years old.

Midwood Park

This 6-acre open park is best known for its charming outdoor amphitheater; however, this is just the tip of what Midwood has to offer. The park is also home to a community garden, a picnic shelter with a grill, a playground, and several other features.

Elon Park 

Elon Park features a playground, four soccer fields, a youth softball field, a fishing pond, and a walking trail. In the park is the Elon recreation center which includes a gymnasium, multi-purpose rooms, and a game room.

Cullman Park

This picturesque Charlotte park is all about serenity and peace as shown through its decor. Cullman is “adorned with two classic red wooden benches, three patio tables with chairs and umbrella shading, a peaceful waterfall with two heron statues, a charming bridge over Cullman Pond, water fountain, grill and winding flights of steps.”
