Charlotte’s fitness scene continues to grow, but Training Camp CLT is taking a refreshingly straightforward approach: get stronger, work hard, and build habits that extend well beyond the gym.
Located at The Rail House on East 27th Street, Training Camp Fitness was founded in 2022 by Thaddeus “Thad” Chevere, a familiar face in Charlotte’s fitness community. A UNC Charlotte graduate and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Chevere spent over a decade working in the city’s fitness scene before bringing that experience together to create Training Camp.

The result is a locally owned studio built around strength, conditioning, and community, with a philosophy that goes well beyond simply getting through a workout. Training Camp calls it #Train4Life, the idea that there is no single finish line when it comes to fitness. Instead, the goal is to build the physical strength, mental toughness, and consistency to keep showing up for whatever comes next.
Training for Life
Training Camp offers several ways to put that philosophy into practice, including its signature TC50 and True Strength classes.
TC50 is a 50-minute workout combining compound movements with limited rest, creating a fast-paced session that challenges both strength and cardiovascular endurance. True Strength shifts the focus entirely to resistance training. The hour-long, no-cardio class uses progressive overload to help members steadily build strength and muscular endurance.
Together, the two formats offer a well-rounded approach for those who want the energy and accountability of group fitness without sacrificing dedicated strength work.
Training Camp also offers personal training for those looking for more individualized programming and attention.

Building a Charlotte Fitness Community
The workouts may get people through the door, but community is a major part of what Training Camp has built in Charlotte.
Rather than creating an intimidating environment centered solely on performance, the studio is designed to meet members where they are and encourage consistent progress. That makes Training Camp approachable for a range of fitness levels, whether you’re an experienced athlete, returning to a routine, or simply looking for a new way to stay active.
For Charlotteans curious about the experience, there’s also an easy way to give it a try. Training Camp hosts a free community boot camp every Saturday at 8 a.m., offering a chance to experience the coaching, workouts, and atmosphere firsthand.
As Charlotte continues to embrace boutique fitness, Training Camp stands out by keeping its mission simple. The goal isn’t just to get through another workout. It’s to become stronger, more capable, and better prepared for life outside the gym.
After all, there’s always something worth training for.
