Charlotte restaurants are reopening now that North Carolina has moved in to Phase 2.
While some spots opened the very first weekend, May 22nd, others are beginning to move into their opening stages. Here’s what you need to know, as a customer looking to support the economy and return to your favorite neighborhood spots.
What did Phase 2 Allow Restaurants to do?
Phase 2 gives restaurants the green light to reopen at 50 percent capacity (or less) with strict safety procedures. Restaurants that open have to comply with certain safety protocols during Phase 2 (and potentially beyond) like arranging the tables and seating so that no one who isn’t in the same group will be less than six feet apart while eating.
Bars remain closed at this time.
Safety Measures Being Employed:
As far as masks go while Charlotte restaurants are reopening, while not required, it is strongly recommended that all employees and customers wear a face covering when in public spaces. You will see many restaurants putting this into place throughout Charlotte.
Employees can also expect daily symptom screening and “stop if you have symptoms” signage at main entrances.
Many are also noting that you can still support them via curbside pickup, takeout, and delivery options, too.
“Our team is running with a split schedule to keep contact circles smaller,” Jamie Brown, of Haberdish, Crepe Cellar, Growler’s Pourhouse, and Reigning Donuts noted. “So, one team will work Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and the other team will work Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. All tables are spaced out to give six feet of social distancing, and plexiglass has been installed at the bar areas.”
Patios will also employ six feet spacing measures, and half capacity rules.
Who is open?
As of the week of June 9, the following top Charlotte restaurants will be open for dine-in. Most strongly encourage reservations at this time.
