We are about halfway through the summer and we need to make the most of this beautiful time of the year before it concludes. There’s a lot of events going on here in the Queen City, so we’ll help you narrow the list down to five outdoors events that you and the family can enjoy!
Denali Moose Tracks 10k Scoops Challenge – 7/26
This event is music to your ears: free ice cream! For each scoop of Denali Moose Tracks ice cream handed out on this day, $1 will be donated to the Salvation Army. Their goal is to raise $10,000, so come ready to eat some ice cream! Sounds easy, right? The challenge will take place on the corner of Trade and Tryon.

Charlotte Block Party – 7/29
Happening at the Carole Hoefener Center, join the city in helping to spread awareness for human trafficking. This event will be fun for all members of the family as there will be bounce houses, games, face painting, music, contest and, of course, food trucks. Attending the event is free however certain activities will come in a family package that will cost $25. Join the the city to support a great cause.

Charlotte Popsicle Fest – 8/5
This is a fun one for the adults. Beat the heat by heading up to Rooftop 210 at the Epicenter as they mix your favorite adult beverages with summer’s best popsicles. General admission tickets are $20 which comes with eight samples of Charlotte’s top “poptails.” Join the rest of city and relive your childhood days in a more adult manner!

Dance In The Park Charlotte – 8/5
Celebrate the journey of dance music with this one day festival being held at Rolling Hill Park. Popular local, regional, and national DJ’s will be present showcasing some of the best dance music, from disco to deep house. Food trucks and a beer garden that will be serving both beer and wine are available during the festival. The event is 18+ and tickets start at $10.

Music Box Lunch – Tuesday’s and Friday’s
Every Tuesday and Friday, starting July 21st, Romare Bearden Park will be hosting a “Music Box Lunch.” Bring your friends and family to enjoy free live music and food in the heart of uptown Charlotte. Music Box Lunches will conclude August 25th so you have the rest of the summer to enjoy a relaxing summer evening at the park.
