2020 has been a rough time for entrepreneurs. Covid-19 has challenged even the most successful small businesses. However, local jewelry designer and stylist Monica Warren chose to view these challenges as an opportunity to pursue her passion. When the pandemic sent her on unemployment, she decided there was no better time to launch a website and a new jewelry line for her brand Pretty Perfect Style.
“I wanted to make sure something positive happened this year in my life,” she says acknowledging that between the Black Lives Matter movement, the pandemic, and our tense political climate, that it has been quite a challenging time for all. A long time fashion blogger and stylist, Warren’s jewelry line was conceived when she noticed that designs were lacking versatility.
Her unique, handmade pieces definitely fill that void. Warren’s statement jewelry, available on Etsy, is designed to blend cohesively into an already extensive jewelry collection, focusing on bold colors and mixed metals that can spice up your look and match with any silver, gold, or bronze jewelry you may already have.
Beyond accessories, Warren’s new website offers full wardrobe styling services, giving women the opportunity to work with her for a whole month as she gives them the tools to reimagine and elevate their own personal style. Warren describes Pretty Perfect Style as a fashion lifestyle as opposed to just a brand, and encourages women to stand out and make a statement with their clothes and accessories.
Pretty Perfect Style’s jewelry designs and styling have already gained momentum, with partnerships with Designer Shoe Warehouse, Tanger Outlets, and Clothes Mentor. Warren is proof that armed with ambition, style, and confidence, there is no bad time to chase your dreams.
She hopes, simply, that her story will inspire other aspiring Charlotte entrepreneurs to look at this strange and challenging time as an opportunity to hit the ground running.
