Jerald Melberg Gallery will open artist Brian Rutenberg’s new exhibit Thunderhead. Widely considered to be one of the finest American painters of his generation, Brian Rutenberg has a distinctive method of richly-colored complex landscape paintings. The South Carolina native transforms the landscapes of his youth into abstract paintings with an impasto surface that is both vibrant and lush.
The first official day of the show is Saturday, May 19. The Gallery will host a “Coffee & Conversation” with the artist, open to the public, at 11 am that day.
Thunderhead is an exhibition of all new paintings, will run through July 21, 2018.
