Three years after opening in Dilworth in 2021, Mood House Charlotte has expanded to a second location nestled in the hospitable Oakhurst neighborhood.
Since opening its flagship massage studio, Mood House Charlotte has caught the attention of national publications. For example, Allure Magazine celebrated Mood House as a “must-visit” concept. Additionally, it has become the official massage provider for some of Charlotte’s top professional athletes. This includes members of the Charlotte Ballet and Carolina Panthers TopCats Cheerleaders. With endorsements like this, it’s no surprise that Mood House had grown to over 800 monthly members, reaching its capacity in Dilworth.

As owner Cristina Wilson considered where to open Mood House’s second location, Oakhurst’s proximity to Plaza Midwood, Elizabeth, Cotswold, and Eastover, areas where many of Mood House’s members live, attracted her to the neighborhood. When she discovered Oakhurst Commons, a newly redeveloped shopping area where neighbors include Switchyards, Ilios Crafted Greek, and The Health Club, Wilson knew she’d found Mood House’s second home.
She collaborated with Foard Construction and Southwick Architecture & Interiors. With their help, she outfitted the new space with eight massage suites, three infrared saunas, and a private outdoor patio. The same Palm Springs energy that attracted so many members to the Dilworth location imbues the Oakhurst space. Clean lines, minimalist furnishings, bright whites, and organic textures promote tranquility. These features also evoke (a much more humid version of) the iconic California spa town.

Showing Up By Chilling Out at Mood House Charlotte
In addition to a shared aesthetic, Mood House Oakhurst also has the same core services and membership structure as its Dilworth sister. Charlotteans can sign up for The Ritual membership—$92 per month for a monthly 50-minute massage. Or enroll inThe Retreat membership— $125 per month for a monthly 80-minute massage. Monthly massages can be shared with others. They can also be rolled over from month to month to provide greater flexibility to busy schedules.
Members not only enjoy a lower price point for their massages, but also get to reap the benefits of building a relationship with Mood House’s therapists. This allows them to achieve greater therapeutic relief, as masseuse and client become increasingly knowledgeable of and in sync with one another.

Mood House also offers a la carte services. Their staff is trained to put first-time or infrequent visitors at ease throughout their entire experience. This empowers visitors to truly maximize their relaxation. “The experience is all about melting your stress. That goes from the moment you walk in the door all the way to floating out!” says Wilson. “Our front desk team will guide you through everything you need to know. We explain choosing your aromatherapy and how to enjoy all the features of the infrared sauna.”
Wilson is a firm believer in the importance of soothing the mind and body, regardless of whether that’s once a month, once a quarter, or once a year. “As an entrepreneur and mother of two young children—I believe it’s important to relax your body and mind so that you can show up the way you want to for your family, career, and life.” It is, after all, why she opened Mood House (both times).
