A Visit To Wing Haven Garden & Bird Sanctuary

wing haven

We found ourselves visiting Wing Haven one early morning as summer wound down and the last of the August light faded. It’s a true Southern garden, the property of Elizabeth and Edwin Clarkson, who created a a respite for birds and other wildlife and a place where everyone could come to discover the beauty and quiet of nature.

Wing Haven is beloved in the community for good reason:

It plays hosts to a myriad of events and as a backdrop for plenty of photographers, but what it really is is a place to gather, outdoors, in the natural beauty our state provides. If you haven’t yet visited Ridgewood Avenue where the gardens are housed, we strongly encourage you to do so, and soon. Each season, Wing Haven remains open, but it is especially beautiful when the flowers are blooming.
