From consultation to design, what is the process like with California Closets?
It’s about having a personal connection from the beginning to the end of the process, which allows us to create a long-term relationship with our clients.
What is your favorite closet accessory and why?
Our Everstyle Drawers. It’s an exclusive product from California Closets, which allows you to customize inserts for the accessories you would like to put in the drawers, like jewelry, sunglasses, watches, home electronics, and more. They also provide flexibility to add more compartments in the future. It’s very modern, elegant and sleek.
How do you make a small closet appear larger and more spacious?
By knowing how to design the closet properly based on the measurements, number of items and the type of storage the client has, you can create a closet that might be smaller in size and appear larger and more spacious.
What is your favorite type of space to design and why?
Small closet spaces with lots of storage! They provide me with a fun challenge to solve.
What has been one of your favorite projects that you’ve designed so far at California Closets?
Although large, luxury spaces are always fun to design, my all-time favorite project was a small master closet for “her” (3’ x 3.5’) that we did a few years ago. We accommodated so many storage options in that little space without making it feel crowded.
What are the most common closet mistakes you see people make?
Not leaving enough space in the corners to access their clothes!
What is your favorite design trend currently and why?
Mixing finishes with textures like our recycled leather.
What is your go-to finish & hardware color combination?
I love Misty Orchard and Morning Light! They are so much fun to work with, and easy to combine with gold, black, matte nickel or any other textured finish.
