Because South End Charlotte loves to eat, The Salty is here to bring some of the very best donuts to Charlotte NC.
After much anticipation, Miami’s first and favorite artisanal donut shop, The Salty Donut, is opening its first NC shop on January 6. The family-owned brand’s eighth location is in Charlotte’s South End neighborhood on South Tryon Street.
All About The Salty
Joining a portfolio of shops in Florida and Texas, the Charlotte store will offer the same signature, decadent treats that have created the cult-like following. Additionally, you will find store-specific flavors and items inspired by the neighborhood. There is also an emphasis on homemade/locally-sourced ingredients.
“At The Salty we are all about community. We cannot wait to become part of the community in South End with our love and passion for donuts, coffee, baked goods and quirky sense of hospitality,” says CEO and Co-Founder Andy Rodriguez.
“We want The Salty to become THE gathering place for our guests. The go-to spot to meet a friend, grab treats for the office or pick up a coffee while walking the dog. Yes, we are dog friendly and offer a doggy donut!. To say we are excited for this opening is an understatement.”
The exciting milestone will be celebrated with giveaways throughout opening weekend (Friday, January 6 – Sunday, January 8). The first 50 guests each day will receive a limited edition gift bag. It includes a Charlotte tote bag, postcard, stickers, and special swag.
What else?
The opening menu will feature four year-round donut flavors, six seasonal donut flavors, as well as Charlotte-specific baked goods including a Ham + Cheese Layered Roll and a Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie. Because our city loves four-legged friends, The Salty Charlotte will also offer a Doggy Donut on its menu full-time.
- Traditional Glazed: 24 hr brioche, vanilla bean glaze.
- Brown Butter & Salt Cake: Vanilla bean cake donut, brown butter glaze, topped with maldon sea salt.
- Milk & Cookies: 24 hr brioche, sweet cream glaze, hot fudge drizzle, topped with cocoa cookie crunch.
- White Chocolate & Chai (Charlotte Flavor!): 24 hr brioche soaked in a homemade chai infused milk, bottom crusted with Valrhona white chocolate, finished with torched vanilla infused meringue.
- Doggy Donut: A treat for our furry friends!
- Layered Ham & Cheese Roll: 24hr savory, herb-buttered, brioche layered with ham, cheddar cheese + mustard.
- Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie: brown butter cookie with chocolate chunks
The Salty’s Charlotte location will be located at 1515 South Tryon Street, Suite 105 and will open Sunday-Thursday from 7AM-7PM and Friday-Saturday from 7AM-10PM.
Lastly, the shop will offer walk-up orders, pickup and delivery through the rewards app and website. New users to the app will receive a free donut or coffee upon signing up, so don’t wait.
