Located on the corner of Park Road and Hillside Avenue in Charlotte sits one of Grande Custom’s newest luxury homes. The Charlotte-based commercial and residential home building firm has brought many of its stunning designs to the area over the years in addition to performing high-end renovations on existing structures.
This latest home showcases many of Grande Custom’s design signatures: a clean, open floor plan, sliding pocket doors, and a screened-in porch with a brick fireplace. Grande Custom designs prides itself on the type of carefully crafted custom details that set this home apart: a double-sided fireplace, waterfall edge kitchen island, and unexpected ceiling details throughout the floor plan. The home is also detailed with a large outdoor living room that is the perfect size for both entertaining and relaxing. Another unique detail to the outdoor space is the water feature, attached on the side of the porch, which adds a subtle layer of comfort and relaxation to the space.
Grande Custom owner John Jakovich says that it’s these small updates that give each home he builds its own unique personality. While this home has a clean, slightly modern design aesthetic, it still manages a warm and welcoming feel. Striking this balance is an essential part of what Grande Custom strives to do.
The home itself is multi-purpose – perfect for a young couple who likes to entertain, a family who needs multiple bedrooms, or empty nesters who still want the space for family and friends to visit. Just shy of 3000 square feet, it features 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and a bonus room/additional bath suitable for a mother-in-law suite, a kid’s playroom or a fifth bedroom. The home also features a functional kitchen that maintains the modern aesthetic with limestone on its countertops and a vaulted breakfast nook.
The Jakovichs’ intent with Grande Custom is to continue to create beautiful homes that can appeal to a wide range of homeowners, while at the same time, trying to take each home to the next level with brand-new design ideas, color schemes, and general selections. They work closely with each individual customer to customize and tailor every space.
“No one wants to see the same house over and over again,” Jakovich says. “It’s our job to continue challenging ourselves to keep homes looking new and exciting as well as encourage homeowners to move forward and stay ahead of the curve so that the house doesn’t look dated in two years.”
Initially, it was a challenge for Grande Custom to develop the plans for this Park Road home. They didn’t want to sacrifice anything even though the dimensions weren’t expansive, so they took the time to develop the perfect plan with enough bedrooms, an open floor plan, and the “inside-out” screened-in porch. They wanted a classic exterior with modern charm, so they chose the dark gray/blue siding mixed with warm wood tones to create a well-balanced color scheme, and paired it with the sloped roof on the front elevation to add a touch of character.
Grande Custom Home has several homes available in the greater Charlotte area. The locally-owned builders are always on the lookout for their next challenge in helping another client design a dream home from the ground up.
