Artistic Contractors, one of the top modern homebuilders in the greater Charlotte area, has a reputation for innovation and unparalleled design.
Artistic Contractors offer two primary lines of business: custom and spec. The Design / Build Custom Home Program is a hand-held approach to designing and constructing the home of a client’s dreams, while Artistic guides clients through the entire process from conception to completion. This includes land analysis, architect selection, design, budgeting and building.
On the other hand, the Spec Home process allows Artistic Contractors in Charlotte to use their creative abilities, think outside the box, and push the envelope on design by trying out new materials and construction techniques that they will eventually pass on to their custom home clients.
Artistic is a full service firm built around extensive experience: The business has been operating for 13 years, and President Daron Gaon has worked in custom home construction since 2003.
Gaon shared more about what his firm offers, some exciting recent listings for prospective clients, and what’s next for Artistic Contractors in Charlotte and beyond.
You specialize in both architectural design and construction. How does that set you apart from competitors?
One thing that sets us apart from other competitors is that we can actually design our houses internally. We use 3D design software called SketchUp to create plan-sets with our own ideas for floorplans and elevations. With the design process staying internal, it allows for a quicker turnaround and less room for miscommunication. Additionally, designing in real-time in 3D leads to better designs because it is easier to see areas of improvement.
What types of designs do you specialize in as contractors in Charlotte?
Modern! Artistic Contractors is Charlotte’s luxury custom modern home builder. Today, Artistic continues to innovate and adapt by using the latest in building materials and structural engineering concepts.
What is your process like in general with new clients?
We walk them through the entire process so that no costly mistakes are made. We get a list of their must-have priorities for the home and then ask them to provide us with inspirational pictures of homes / materials they like. Once we have the priorities and photos, we are ready to start creating.
Two new projects, 6026 and 5930 Midsomer, are standout, recent listings done by you completely in house. What was that process like?
Our standard process is to come up with a few key features for each house, such as designing around the pool at 6026, and to then work from there. These were lake projects, so we definitely wanted to highlight the grand views of Lake Wylie on both houses. Both 5930 and 6026 boast sleek design, smooth hard-coat stucco and exotic South American cumaru wood. They offer stunning lake views, with huge glass windows and doors for natural light to flood in at all hours of the day. Both kitchens are fit for a chef, with top appliances on top of the open concept. The primary bedrooms in these homes really stand out, offering more views of the lake, custom closets and spa-like bathroom amenities. The 22 foot ceilings in the living room of 5930 are one of our favorite elements of that home.
6026 has a special luxury pool with an infinity edge blending into Lake Wylie, as well as an outdoor kitchen. The view of the infinity edge pool and the lake right when you walk in the door is exceptional. You can really tell time and detail went into every decision of both of these homes, which is why it is so important to work with experienced contractors in Charlotte from start to finish on a project of this size.
