For this Eastover home, the Grande Custom Builders team aspired to a modern classic design. This is evident from the curbside view, where a classic Georgian brick exterior meets a modern twist. Inside, five bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a bonus room, and third floor flex space offer plenty of well appointed living space. Grande Custom built this house with a resident who enjoys entertaining in mind. It features an open concept floor plan and an intimate courtyard backyard bathed in beautiful simplicity. Both indoors and outdoors, guests will discover a clean aesthetic that achieves maximum impact through high ceilings and tall doors.
Room By Room
Guests enter through a ten foot pivoting metal door and pass through the two-story foyer, which is warmed by whitewashed shiplap. From here, the glow of the living room chandelier draws visitors further into the home. The focal point of the living room is a four panel sliding pocket door and the row of windows above that showcase the covered porch, which has points of visual or physical access across the back of the house.
Gray-washed oak along the kitchen island and cabinet softens the white color palette. The island is also leathered, which provides some textural difference that juxtaposes nicely with the otherwise sleek kitchen.
The majority of the walls and trim are a warm white, with the exception of the library hallway, which contrasts starkly with the rest of the house, especially the white architectural fireplace. Throughout, neutral furnishings complement the open and airy home, while also softening the black windows and doors.
Although the design is primarily modern, Grande Custom Builders drilled down on the details to incorporate significant contrast and texture that preserves a modicum of homey warmth.
