The Croissant to trump all other croissants, rugelach is a holiday delight to uphold tradition.
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups of flour
1 Cup unsalted butter
8 ounce of cream cheese
1/2 Cup of sour cream
1 Tbsp of cinnamon
1/2 Cupf of raisins
1 Cup chopped walnuts
1/2 Cup of sugar
Pinch of salt
Powdered sugar, jam
METHOD:
Mix cream cheese, butter, sour cream, flour, salt in processor. Roll mixture into five equal size circles. In a bowl mix walnuts, raisins, cinnamon, and sugar. Take this mixture and lightly shake onto equal sized circle rolls. Cut the circles into 8 pieces and roll like a small croissant. Place rolls on baking sheet and put in refrigerator for half an hour. Preheat your oven to 375F, remove baking sheet, and place in oven. Cook until the rugelach are golden. Remove and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with jam and enjoy.
