Laurie Durden’s ability to almost seamlessly mesh her clients indoor structures and living spaces with the surrounding landscapes and topography has become her calling card. With a degree from U of A’s distinguished School of Architecture paired with her undergraduate studies in art history, Laurie draws inspiration from a variety of styles, periods, and design philosophies in order to create the perfect harmony between lair and leaf.
Her amazing creations have been well documented and her list of clients consist of some of Charlottes most notable families and her work can be found in the historic neighborhoods of Eastover, Dilworth, Myers Park, and across the country. Most recently, Laurie has been hired as a design consultant to create a master plan as part of the restoration project for the historic Duke Mansion in an effort to restore and enhance its 4.5 acres of gardens where the goal is to tie together both the existing and new gardens and landscapes with the rest of the properties structures and walkways.
