New South Home, a Charlotte interior design firm, specializes in crafting transitional spaces.
Melissa Lee, principal designer, Sandy Moore, project manager, and Brenna Morgan, design associate, work together in a room-by-room fashion to meet the client’s every need.
This project, located in the elegant Ballantyne Country Club neighborhood, is a prime example of their brand of expert client/designer collaboration. The homeowners preferred to carry a warm palette with notes of green and beige throughout their home. However, they welcomed the idea of a darker living space. The designer wanted visitors to make an immediate statement, so they selected a deep, striking navy blue. Rich dark wood side tables were added to further enhance the warm living area.
New South Home incorporated some of the homeowners’ existing items, like the brass mirror and blue and white china piece. As a result, the design team had a simple decorative canvas to expand upon. The modern brass and glass coffee table ties in with the brass mirror, and the accent pillows agree with the china.
To create a striking contrast against the navy background, New South Home added the white sofa and rug. Meanwhile, the Bobbin Spindle Chairs bring bright neutrality. The blush pink pops of color pay homage to the homeowners’ Floridian roots. The eye-catching painting hung above the sofa immediately commands the room in a flawless marriage of the color palette.
All together, it’s a room that’s as beautiful as it is livable, with sentiment and style at every turn.
