The Piedmont Puddle Jumpers are your ticket to a ride unlike any other.
You’ve probably been in a boat, lazily drifting on a lake before. And you’ve surely been in a plane before—maybe even a tiny private one. But those are just vehicles—one for transportation, and the other mostly for sport. Marry the two concepts, though, and you’ve got yourself a good old-fashioned experience.
Seaplane flight might seem an intangible experience, the kind of thing you’ve seen in movies and magazines, but to which you definitely don’t have access. That’s where the Piedmont Puddle Jumpers come in.
A collaboration between two flight schools located in central NC, Piedmont Puddle Jumpers is headed up by Mike and Mike. These guys are two of the friendliest, most down-to-earth Carolinians you’ll meet… They just happen to enjoy spending a lot of their time in the air, and on the water. Luckily, they’re set on sharing that experience with others: PPJ offers an array of aquatic aviation opportunities, ranging from instructive training courses to more affordable “discovery flights.”
Trust me, you’ve got to give it a try, at least once: Seaplanes may be among those things you don’t think your life needs to include, and that’s a fair assumption. They’ve probably always been in your peripheral (as they were in mine), along with all those other things you haven’t tried that seem like they may or may not be worthwhile. But frankly, there’s nothing like it.
