This year, the 25th Annual Peach Festival in Candor NC. Starting from July 13th till the 22nd, locals and visitors are welcome to join this peachy extravaganza.
There will be a wide variety of family friendly events hosted throughout the Peach Week. You’ll find lots of fun, from movie nights to live music events, free ice creams, sports games, and even a vintage car show!
The Peach Week Restaurant Competition at the Peach Festival in Candor NC
No festival is complete without good food, especially if it comes from your very own local businesses. This is why over a dozen restaurants, breweries, and wine shops are partaking in a unique Peach Week Restaurant competition.
Head over to these establishments to have a taste of their many unique peach-defined snacks, entrees, desserts, and drinks. Visit one restaurant or two, or try them all!
Bluesfest 2024
Bluesfest is an annual outdoor music festival held in North Carolina showcasing talent from developing local artists in the region. This year Bluesfest will align with Peach Week, welcoming celebrators to make a stop at the Bluesfest stage.
Head to the Sunrise Theater at the Southern Pines on July 14-15 to witness live performances from the best local blues artists, including Vasti Jackson, Idlewild South, Linwood Taylor, Harvey Dalton Arnold, Jason Damico, Corey Congilio, and more!
Power Cars and Peaches
If you are an avid enthusiast of rustic, vintage, and classic cars, you don’t want to miss out on the “Power Cars And Peaches” event hosted at the Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities in the Southern Pines. Head over to the center’s shaded grounds on July 16th and explore the many vintage cars on display, provided by the Sandhills Motoring Festival. Whiskey Pines, a local favorite, will be providing live music.
“Life Is A Peach” Night with The Sandhills Bogeys
The Sandhill Bogeys are the local baseball team playing at Sandhills Community College and the official ‘22 Champions of the Old North State League. If you enjoy summer baseball like us, you will want to watch these boys in action.
Go to the Sandhills Community College on July 16th, where families can enjoy a nice game of baseball, with the first 100 attendees receiving a free scoop of peach ice cream!
Pitch N’ Peach At Longleaf Golf And Family Club
Golf is a sport you can easily enjoy with like-minded people, especially if the whole family joins in. This year’s Peach Festival includes a specialty “Pitch N’ Peach” event hosted by the Longleaf Golf And Family Club, the premier golfing club in the Sandhills territory.
On July 18th, participants are welcome to join in and play their hand at winning exciting prizes. Adults can sit back and enjoy a cooling glass of complimentary peach beer, whereas kids will be provided scoops of free peach ice cream.
Movie Night – Sunrise Theater
For years, James and the Giant Peach has remained a favorite movie of kids and adults alike. In celebration of the Peach Festival 2023, the Sunrise Theater will be hosting a FREE movie night. The event will be taking place at its venue on July 19th.
families can bring in a can of store-bought peaches for donation to the Sandhills Food Bank. in return, they will receive complimentary admission. You also don’t want to miss the special appearance of Sadie Rae, the first-ever Miss NC Peach Blossom!
Peach Wine Tasting
Nothing tastes as fruity, sweet, and refreshing as peach wine. So head to the Watering Cans Wine Bar at the Historic Downtown Carthage for a peach wine tasting on July 19th.
Visitors will be provided a selection of complimentary wines from all over the world. There will also be an assortment of salsas and sips. The wine shop has wine selections in a variety of tastes; you will easily find a favorite to take home!
Peach Week 5K Fun Run – A Highlight Of The Peach Festival in Candor NC
For those seeking a more active, engaging event, go to the Peach Week 5K Fun Run. It is hosted at the FirstHealth Pinehurst Fitness Center on July 20th. All proceeds from the race will be donated to the FirstHealth Cancer Care Fund!
participants will be rewarded with healthy snacks, water bottles, stickers, and another exciting giveaway. You will also get a free scoop of ice cream at the finish line!
Peach Preservation Workshop
Like all fruits, summer peaches won’t last forever. This is why visitors at the festival are welcome to join the “Pickling Peaches Preservation Workshop” hosted at the Moore County Agricultural Building on July 20th.
At the event, you learn all you need about pickling peaches and exciting preservation techniques through a 3-hour guided workshop by the Moore Cooperative Extension Service. Registration for the workshop will cost you just $20.
Sandhills Trolley Company – Peach Week Foodie Tour- July 22
If you are in for some more exciting peach-y creations, head to the Peach Week Trolley Foodie Tour, a mobile food tour where you can stop by to taste a wide assortment of peach-themed meals and peach-inspired drinks. For a simple entry fee of $85, you can enter the tour and enjoy all your favorite peach creations.
Note: all peach theme stops and drinks are included in the one-time entry fee.
James Creek Cider House – Peach A’ Palooza- July 22
The best way to truly celebrate Peach Week is to visit the fields where the magic happens. This is why James Creek Cider House is offering free cidery and orchard tours around their establishment, where they grow around 24 different varieties of peaches, including Candor, May Sweet, Derby, Caroking, Cary Mac, Saturn/donuts, Blazeprince, Winblo, Majestic, Sugar Giant, July Prince and more.
There will be live entertainment, fresh North Carolina peaches for sale, and complimentary peach cider slushies for your indulgence.
Area Farmers Markets
Make a final stop at Moore County’s Farmers Market. Here you can support your favorite local farmers. Explore the many varieties of fresh peaches and peach products on sale in celebration of Peach Week.
The market will run on July 12, 15, 20, 21, and 22 in various regions around Southern Pines including Southern Pines Armory on Morganton Road, downtown Southern Pines at the corner of Broad St., New York Ave. and Carthage Farmer’s Market.
