Thanksgiving comes early this year for pastry fans as Amélie’s French Bakery and Café, Charlotte’s famed destination for sweet and savory desserts, launches their new autumn menu in all locations. With a mix of brand-new creations and time-tested favorites, Amélie’s features 39 items guaranteed to envelope their customers in the flavors of France and the comforts of fall.
“The autumn menu items are inspired by fruit markets in Alsace, golden-hued trees at twilight, first orchard harvests, and the whisper of chill in the air,” says Amélie’s Director of Beverages Maura Raymond.
That inspiration translates well in their new desserts and drinks, which draw their flavors from ingredients such as pecan, apple, butternut squash, spiced cherry, and of course, pumpkin. Adding that seasonal twist to their French Macarons, for example, brings pumpkin pecan praline, brown butter pecan, s’mores, and almond toffee macarons to the menu. Other sweet desserts include their Pumpkin Cream Cheese Danish and Sweet Potato Pecan Petit Four.
For those with less of a sweet tooth and more of a savory one, Amélie’s offers Butternut Squash Soup and their Smoked Gouda Tartine topped with roasted root vegetables. Not to be ignored, their drink menu boasts some new Orange and Clove Mimosas—available at their Uptown, Park Road, and Carmel Commons locations—as well as Almond Toffee and Smoked Sea Salt Café Crème.
“With cooler weather coming in,” Raymond continues, “we are excited to offer food and drink pairings to keep our customers warm while celebrating the new season.”
Amélie’s autumn menu is available at all six of their locations, including their flagship storefront at NoDa, which is open 24/7.
