Since 2008, Amélie’s French Bakery and Café has been nourishing both the sweet and savory appetites of customers in the NoDa area, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Since then, the Café has added five additional locations amongst both the Carolinas and Georgia.
Known for its funky, instagrammable interiors and colorful macarons, Amélie’s continues to draw both first-time visitors and dedicated regulars. It’s the perfect place to find respite from the heat outdoors, alongside a coffee, dessert and quirky, unconventional décor.
Beginning June 1, Amélie’s will release over 25 refreshing new menu items, shaping their offerings to be even more enticing for a quick summertime escape. Inspired by the beaches of the Riviera, Amélie’s new flavors include coconut, key lime, blueberry, mango, and passion fruit.
Additionally, the café will introduce Macaron Ice Cream Sandwiches, a blending of two of the café’s ever-popular macaron cookies and either a feature ice cream or sorbet, in two flavors of Lavender Lemon and Salted Caramel Brownie.
“We are so excited to reveal our brand-new Macaron Ice Cream Sandwiches,” said Mary Jayne Wilson, Amélie’s Executive Chef. “This is something I’ve been working on for many years with the Amélie’s team and have finally perfected the recipe and method to construct these beauties. We look forward to providing folks a way to beat the summer heat with a French twist on a classic treat.”
Other menu items include additional flavors of their classic French Macarons in toasted coconut, strawberry passion fruit, blackberry basil and key lime. Additionally, they will be featuring a Prosciutto, Brie, Blueberry Balsamic Tartine, and their Coconut Pineapple Danish, filled with coconut pastry cream, rum roasted pineapple and topped with toasted coconut.
In addition to pastries, Amélie’s will be serving “Mimosas to Share,” provided for groups of either two or four, served with sparkling wine, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit puree, and simple syrup.
Alongside are two additional new beverages: a Coconut Lavender Café Crème made of coconut simple syrup, espresso, milk and lavender whipped cream topped with toasted coconut, either hot or iced, alongside a Key Lime French Soda, comprised of vanilla bean lime simple syrup, freshly squeezed lime juice, sparkling water and ice cream topped with streusel.
