It’s that time of year again to sit back and enjoy some of the most admired Jewish films of 2017. The 13th annual Charlotte Jewish Film Festival kicks off February 11th and runs until March 5th.
The Charlotte Jewish Film Festival is a showcase of pictures that bring together the community through breathtaking real life stories. The films will be presented in multiple venues including Temple Israel and Regal Ballantyne Village Stadium Theatre, as well as three showings in Lake Norman venues.
With assistance from an array of talented directors, generous volunteers, and sponsors, the festival has grown tremendously from the original two film event it started as in 2005. With over 5,000 tickets sold during the 2016 festival, the festival has gained prestige in the community.
There will be 13 different films shown during the two-week festival covering the following themes: comedy, drama, documentary, romantic comedy, and suspense thriller. Opening night will include a showing of The Women’s Balcony, a comedy-drama centered around women’s rights in the Jewish community and an opening night reception will be included after the film. Other highly anticipated films, like Who’s Gonna Love Me Now, Wounded Land, Big Sonia, and the Pickle Recipe, will be a part of the lineup over the course of the film as well.
Tickets are sold individually for each showing and can be purchased at the Charlotte Jewish Film Festival’s website: charlottejewishfilm.com
