The week of March 23rd officially brought the Charlotte Stay at Home order, so we know you have a little extra time to spend catching up on your favorite shows, or trying a new series or movie. Here are a few of our favorite picks from Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon.
Snuggle up on the couch with your loved ones or furry friends tonight, and enjoy the comfort of a story or scene that can take us out of our own heads. Bonus points if you’re home solo as you stay at home and can watch on Zoom or FaceTime with a loved one!

I Am Not Okay With This: A newcomer to Netflix, this sci-fi/fantasy show is perfect for fans of Stranger Things (which we also highly recommend).
Better Call Saul: The spinoff of Breaking Bad is a wild ride of a crime drama. Binge all five seasons.
Mad Men: A true classic from AMC, all seven seasons of this period-drama featuring everyone’s favorite anti-hero, Don Draper, are available on Netflix.
Narcos: Narcos chronicles the drug trade, starting with Columbia and transitioning into Mexico. All three seasons are available.
The Crown: The Crown is a historical drama with three seasons, all of which focus on Britain’s Royal Family.
The Chef Show: Accomplished Chef Roy Choi and Foodie/Director Jon Favreau team up to cook with the best of the best around the country.
The Good Place: This afterlife comedy stars Kristen Bell and Ted Danson. All three seasons are on Netflix.
Friends From College: Keegan Michael Key and Fred Savage are hilarious in this show that reunites old college friends 20 years later and is a testament to the fact that even though we grow older, some of us never grow up.
Tiger King: Ok, we had to. This is a documentary telling of a zoo owner’s story (plus, an entire web of other zoo owners and criminals revolving around him) that you’ll have to hear to believe… and it’s still pretty unbelievable even then.
Catching Monsters: This series gives you a world tour while the host Cyril chases after some of the largest and most aggressive species of fish on the planet. He will stop at nothing to catch his target.
Miles Davis – Birth of The Cool: This documentary gives never before seen behind the scenes footage of Miles Davis, and paints a vivid picture of the troubled genius’ career and his exploits as a womanizer, addict, and icon.

Frances Ha: From Noah Baumbach, Frances Ha is a sweet, poignant, 2012 American black and white dramedy.
Groundhog Day: The classic Bill Murray comedy about the day that keeps repeating… this is comfort-watching at its finest,
Roma: Roma is a beautiful, black and white telling of a 1970’s live-in housekeeper. It’s as a semi-autobiographical take on director/producer Alfonso Cuarón’s upbringing in the Colonia Roma neighborhood of Mexico City.

Series
The Handmaid’s Tale: Equal parts compelling and unnerving, this American dystopian web television series created by Bruce Miller is based on the 1985 novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood.
Little Fires Everywhere: This Hulu show starring Reese Witherspoon is the adaption of the 2017 novel by Celeste Ng; it is a compelling tale that “explores the weight of secrets, the nature of art and identity, and the ferocious pull of motherhood.”
The League: This American sitcom with seven seasons follows a group of old friends in a fantasy football league who care deeply about one another.
The Mindy Project: Created by and starring Mindy Kaling, this comedy is smart, funny, and sharp. All six seasons are available on Hulu.
Damages: Damages is a five season American legal thriller created by writing and production trio Daniel Zelman, Glenn Kessler, and Todd A. Kessler. It stars Glenn Close.
Veronica Mars: Stream all eight seasons of this feel-good teen mystery series, starring Kristen Bell, on Hulu
Looking for Alaska: From Hulu comes this American teen drama web television miniseries created by Josh Schwartz and based on the 2005 novel of the same name by John Green. The adaptation is an eight-episode limited series.

Modern Love: Modern Love is an American romantic comedy anthology web television series, based on the weekly column published by The New York Times. Episodes vary from 29 to 35 minutes in length.
Homeland: Starring Claire Danes, this is an American spy thriller television series developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa based on the Israeli series “Prisoners of War.”
Outlander: Outlander is a historical drama television series based on the novel series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon. Five seasons are on Amazon Prime.
Jack Ryan: Starring John Krasinski, Jack Ryan is a American political thriller spy web television series, based on characters from the fictional “Ryanverse” created by Tom Clancy.
Flight of the Concords: Watch seasons one and two of Bret and Jemaine’s search for romance and music gigs in NYC.
Curb Your Enthusiasm: If you need a good laugh, Larry David’s tongue-in-cheek mockumentary of his own life is available on Amazon Prime.
The Wire: The beloved classic from HBO is a harrowing look at a joint homicide/narcotics police detail created to investigate a drug-dealing operation in Baltimore.
Mr. Show: Mr. Show with Bob and David is widely considered one of the best sketch shows of all time. Seasons 1-4 are available now.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: Lauded for the set design, costumes, writing, and acting, Mrs. Maisel follows a young comedian making her way in New York City in the 1950s.
