11/13/16 – Join Farm Hands Charlotte, a community-based grant program for area farmers. At their event this Sunday, the crowd’s vote can help a farmer close the funding gap for crucial resources. Farm Hands Charlotte will host its fourth fundraiser on Sunday evening at 6 p.m. at Free Range Brewing. The fun-filled, family-friendly evening will feature farmer finalists who pitch their “big ideas” to the crowd. The grand prize winner is expected to take home $3000 to fund his or her project on the farm.
Earlier this fall, farmers submitted applications detailing how they might use funds to make their farms smarter and more sustainable. A panel of judges selected three finalists who will make their case to the audience at this year’s event: Ardea Homestead Sanctuary in King’s Mountain, N.C., The Farm at Dover Vineyards in Concord, N.C. and Windcrest Farm Organics in Monroe, N.C.
This year’s Sunday Supper, dubbed “Breakfast For Dinner,” will feature ingredients donated by local farms and will be prepared by Chef Matthew Krenz of The Asbury, Chef Greg Collier of The Yolk, and Chef Michael Rayfield of River’s Edge Bar & Grill.
Tickets are $30 per person and are available at http://www.farmhandsclt.com/jo in-us/
