Designer Lisa Sherry of Lisa Sherry Interieurs had a home on Bald Head Island for many years. At one point, she even considered purchasing this very home for herself. It was not meant to be, yet, in a serendipitous twist, Lisa got the chance to reimagine the space for the new homeowners when they became her clients.
Bald Head Island is a small island off the coast of NC, accessible only by ferry. The island is car-free (golf carts and bikes only) and carefree. This home was one of the very first built on the island. Before the significant renovation, the vibe was 1970s beach house with lots of quirky character. The guiding design principle for Lisa Sherry Interieurs was to open up and modernize the space, with nods to the home’s original charm.
“My clients love to entertain–to fill the house with love and laughter, welcoming friends, family and also embracing the sweeping marsh views” Lisa explains. “This kitchen–one of two–is the heartbeat of the home. In fact, guests enter directly into this space, so the kitchen also serves as a foyer. It sets the tone for the experience of the home.”
