If you’re like us, you’re usually at Latta Plantation during the warm months, soaking up the trails and the lake views on the expansive Huntersville property. But with all the great Charlotte events happening this chilly November weekend, this is the one we decided you simply can’t miss: 100 Years of Christmas at Latta Plantation.
After all our Thanskgiving festivities, we are officially feeling ready to ring in Christmas cheer. This weekender event starts November 25 and goes through the 26 from 10am to 4pm both days. Join in as the gorgeous Historic Latta Plantation in Huntersville celebrates Christmas in a unique way, featuring the one hundred years of seasonal cheer between 1768 to 1868.
It’s a family-friendly excuse to combine getting outside this weekend with embracing a yearly Charlotte tradition, and we love the mix of southern history with Christmas staples we all can recognize.
For this event, the plantation is fully decorated according to the time period and meticulously-dressed interpreters will reenact colonial and antebellum Christmas festivities. There will also be informational tours of the buildings, cooking demonstrations, crafting, and caroling.
