Snow in CLT
There’s a special breed of excitement that descends over Charlotte when it snows — a southern point in a southern state, snow storms aren’t unheard of here but they sure ain’t a dime a dozen, either. Each year that we do get a coating, it’s an opportunity for the best type of winter activity — grocery stores go quiet, schools close, sleds are dragged out of storage, and fireplaces beg to be lit. Of course, these scenes of white are fleeting, here one day and gone the next, which is why we’re thankful these talented Charlotte-based photographers took to the streets to capture our city adorned with wintry wonder. These photos each present a slightly different view of what snow looks like in the south, from a skyline speckled with flakes to wildlife waiting out the weather, but all together, they make for a beautiful depiction of Charlotte’s shortest season.
