Tell us about the Summer Radiance Facial.
Our Summer Radiance Facial, a limited edition 90-minute treatment unique to summer, is designed to balance and restore your skin as the weather changes. This high-touch facial incorporates massage techniques like sculptural facial lifting and lymphatic drainage, leaving your skin rejuvenated and ready to glow all summer long.
The Summer Radiance Facial also includes dermaplaning, which boosts the rest of your beauty routine by physically exfoliating the skin and removing peach fuzz. This helps your skincare products absorb better and leaves you with a silky smooth canvas for makeup products.
What is the difference between the Summer Radiance Facial and the Selenite Signature Facial?
Our Signature Facial is a 60-minute treatment, whereas our Summer Radiance Facial is 90 minutes and includes two enhancements within the service. The Summer Radiance Facial also includes extended lifting, lymphatic facial massage, dermaplaning for more profound relaxation, and leaving you with a glass skin finish.
Do you have any products you recommend for summer skin?
As we head into summer, many clients have asked about preventing or reversing sunspots and hyperpigmentation. Using a high-quality Vitamin C serum and SPF in the morning is key to avoiding hyperpigmentation and maintaining healthy skin.
How can Vitamin C help our skin?
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that fights free radicals that come in contact with your skin from environmental pollutants or stressors like UV rays. We recommend incorporating a Vitamin C serum into your routine during the daytime to help protect your skin and prevent the formation of sunspots, hyperpigmentation, or fine lines and wrinkles. Some of our favorites include the Maya Chia Super Lift Vitamin C Serum, Agent Nateur Holi(C) Powder, or Eminence Citrus + Kale Serum, all known for their high-quality ingredients and proven results.
What are some of your favorite SPFs?
In addition to Vitamin C, it’s essential to protect your skin from the sun using a SPF. We love mineral SPFs that are zinc-based and sit on top of the skin to protect it. Zinc-based sunscreens have come a long way in the past few years. Gone are the days of thick and greasy sunscreens that leave a white cast. Our favorite un-tinted sunscreens include the Odacite Mineral Drops SPF 50 and the Eminence Radiant Protection Fluid SPF 30. We also love the ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 for those who want to blend their makeup and SPF into one step or the RMS SuperNatural Radiance Serum SPF 30 for those who want a healthy glow.
What else can we add to our summer skincare routine?
To take your routine to the next level, we recommend incorporating a retinol or retinol alternative to your routine to help lift hyperpigmentation or fade sunspots. Retinol is a synthetic form of Vitamin A that helps increase cell turnover, fight signs of aging, and lift pigmentation. When incorporating retinol into your routine, we recommend starting slowly. Try using it 1 to 2 times a week and slowly increase to nightly if your skin can tolerate it. We love the Josh Rosebrook Active Infusion Oil and the Maya Chia Straight A Retinol Treatment.
If you have more sensitive skin but still want the benefits of retinol, we recommend trying a retinol alternative. Retinol alternatives are derived from plants like bakuchiol or carrots, which are highly concentrated in Vitamin A and provide similar results to retinol while being gentler on your skin. Some of our favorite retinol alternatives include Eminence’s Bamboo Firming Fluid or the Three Ships Skin Hero Bakuchiol Bio-Retinol Serum.
In addition to its spa services and products, Selenite Beauty offers beauty consultations and makeup appointments for those looking to revamp their beauty routines. Its clean swap consultations are perfect for those transitioning to clean beauty who want cleaner alternatives for their favorite beauty products. Their makeup appointments are great for those getting ready for special events or want hands-on tips on doing their makeup.
