You don’t have to travel 5000 miles to have the taste and experience of the Western Mediterranean region. Thanks to Chapter 6, Rare Roots Hospitalty’s newest restaurant concept, you need only take a trip to South End to experience refreshing and dauntless plate pairings.
Chapter Six combines foods from Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, France and Italy. It creates blends that speak to the heart of culture. The restaurant had its grand opening on September 20th of this year, which was a delicious success.
Jon and Kim Dressler, owners of Chapter 6, wanted to bring something more to the table. All in all, it’s safe to say they’ve hit the nail on the head with this one. They bring in auras and elevated dishes from around the world.
Dishes and Drinks
Chapter 6’s cooking style is 100% scratch kitchen. So, that means the chefs make everything in-house, by hand. Executive chef Scott Hollingsworth, chef Jonny Cox, and Director of Operations Tim Buchanan traveled to Morocco and Spain for some hands-on research to help curate their menu. Dishes include mezze, or appetizer style plates, tapas, and small plate options as well as some large plated options. Menu items such as whipped ricotta, braised lamb neck, roasted cipollini onions, and the seafood feast were a few favorites of ours.
Hillary Demmitt, of Fin & Fino, helped to curate the wine list. It’s comprised of wines from the romantic regions of Italy, France, and Spain. Similar to Fin & Fino’s wine “Treatment,” Chapter 6 will have a treatment of its own that consists of a tasting tour of the menu. Not to mention, five dollars of every Treatment purchased will be donated to a local charity.
Chapter 6 also offers brunch 11-3 pm on the weekends with a cocktail menu created by Brittney “BK” Kellum of Fin & Fino with the help of Kendon Corbett.
Chapter 6 is located on Hawkins Street. It’s the newest tenant of The Line, along with Sycamore Brewing, Grit Box Fitness, and Savi Provisions. From their interior design to their serving dishes and glassware, Chapter 6 transports its diners to the coastal realm of the Mediterranean. It celebrates the traditions of the meeting of land and sea with every bite, sip, and taste.
