Help Charlotte Hospitals & Rē Salon in their effort to donate medical grade masks.
The owner of Rē Salon and Med Spa, Marcel Stark, made the effort to donate whatever masks they had at Rē Salon to local Charlotte NC hospitals. With the help of his mother, Eva Stark, and his resources, a shipment came in for over 6,500 masks. All of them were donated on April 4 to Atrium Health Hospitals via no contact drop-off. These masks will be sent to their teams at the front lines of 13 hospitals here in NC and will most likely end up in the metro area.
Sara Brown, a Physician Assistant who works for Rē Salon and Med Spa, also helped deliver supplies.
Donating To Our Healthcare Workers
Rē Salon is located at 1212 South Boulevard in South End and has been in business since 2010. They are a small, local business that fulfills beauty and wellness needs. The Starks hope to donate more masks on behalf of Rē Salon and Med Spa as soon as more resources become available to him and his family.
An Atrium staff member said, “masks will help make a HUGE impact on our system. One of our primary objectives is maintaining an adequate supply of all PPE necessary to ensure the safety of our teammates and patients.”
Marcel and his team have been actively involved in community outreach since the salon’s opening. And they plan to continue to serve others however they can.
According to Marcel, “We can only hope that we can resume fulfilling Charlotteans’ wellness needs once our doors open again.” “My parents are holocaust survivors. I grew up in a family that preached about giving back. They wanted to help people in need without ever expecting a thank you. Knowing our time and effort should not come with rewards, but come with the self-satisfaction of knowing we were able to make a difference.”
