The outdoor air is warming up, and spirits are high at the coming of spring in The Queen City. A collective artistic energy is sprouting, and The Mint Museum Uptown and Randolph Road have a full calendar prepared for spring’s highly anticipated arrival. Immerse yourself in culture and inspiration at one (or all) that the Museum has to offer!
Yoga Bar
The NC Yoga Bar holds a one hour vinyasa class each Wednesday at The Mint Museum Uptown for some relaxation before viewing the art on The Mint’s “Free Wednesday Evenings.” The expansive lobby fills up quickly with yogis ready to wind down before the second half of the week.
Exhibitions
There are always several exhibitions at both locations of the museum, each exploring a unique cultural aspect or medium of art. From fashion to pottery, collage to paintings, and even drawings; there is or will be an exhibition to fit every artistic interest.
The Ceramics Series
A series of lectures and displays of expertly crafted pottery pieces is held March-April in Uptown the third Wednesday of the month, and Randolph the last Tuesday. Experts in the field bring their own work to share their techniques with intrigued museum guests, share the history of a pottery medium, or engage in your own ceramics workshop.
Coveted Couture Gala
This annual spring fundraising gala at The Mint Museum Randolph will be a chic celebration of fashion and culture in the form of a black tie dinner and dancing affair. This year the gala welcomes back iconic previous Vogue editor and fashion mogul Andre Leon Talley to partake in the festivities.
Adult Art Party
Grab an adult beverage and your art supplies before heading to The Mint with friends to take part in a delightful creative experience inspired by an exhibition. Each art party starts off with a museum tour, followed by a crafting session. In March, fiber art will be created, followed by collographs in April, and block prints in May.
ArtBreak at Levine Center for the Arts
Each third Thursday of the month, get out of the office and relieve some stress with art as you enjoy your lunch break with a free thirty minute museum tour at the Uptown Location.
