An art exhibition is transforming Camp North End into an exotic Eastern bazaar August 25. Soma CLT will be held inside and around BLK MRKT studio from 5 to 10 p.m. and will showcase a variety of artwork from about 30 artists. Following the exhibition will be an official after party at QC Social Lounge where more art will be featured.
The title of the exhibition connotes the moon, which fittingly ties together the cosmic and astrological themed works. Attendees will be immersed in the atmosphere. The Soma CLT team aims to create the most “Instagrammable art show to hit the city.” Guests are also invited to join in a “sunset surprise” to close the show.
Soma CLT brings a unique cultural experience to Charlotte and invites art lovers of all backgrounds to enjoy the experience. This group exhibition displays the diversity within the art community and promotes unity and empowerment among emerging artists.
Soma CLT is a free event, however donations are being accepted, and proceeds will go toward future cultural experiences for the Charlotte art community. All artwork is available for purchase and a portion of the proceeds will go toward aiding the devastation of the dam failure in Laos. There will also be an assortment of vendors, food and music. Please visit @soma.clt on Instagram for the full artist roster and exhibition features. Visitors are encouraged to share pictures, tagging @soma.clt and using the hashtag #somaclt.
