With stress levels and busyness running at an all-time high over the past months, finding the perfect option for a Charlotte spa day to share with readers was at the top of our to-do list.
We wanted something that was easy to fit in, well-located, and well-priced, but also hit all the marks in terms of pure relaxation and top notch services. Enjoying a spa day is a luxury, to be sure, but it’s also one of the nicest ways to treat someone you love, spend time with a friend in a safe, relaxing environment, or simply unplug by yourself for a few hours to reset.
The salon, spa and medspa Rē Salon is located in a refurbished firehouse right outside Uptown, and they perfectly fuse modern techniques with tranquility. A few hours spent at Rē Salon, located on South Boulevard, and you’ll walk out feeling like a new person: skincare needs met, muscles and joints relaxed after your massage, vitamin levels replenished by the med spa, and stress melted away.
We’ve been visiting Rē for years, because the service has remained consistently exceptional and their offerings continue to evolve. We weren’t surprised to learn, then, that the warm, friendly, expertly-trained team has a few new offerings up their sleeves during this time.
These include their Rēnewal Package (one of their seasonal packages) which has a little bit of everything offered from the spa, salon, and med spa combined. You can enjoy a 60-minute signature facial with a custom hydrojelly™ mask (dermaplaning or high frequency upgrade included), a 60-minute European massage or hot stone massage, a 10-minute Thai foot massage treatment, their refreshing hair package (shampoo, deep conditioning treatment with oil infused hot towel and style), and a complimentary IMAGE Ormedic Balancing Lip Enhancement Complex to take home.
The team has also been working hard on their “Cannabliss Rētreat,” which will be officially released soon now that they’ve found an exceptional CBD balm to incorporate into a variety of services.
What is probably our favorite of the newly available offerings is the membership program Rē just rolled out: It allows members a way to save money on their visits, and also to get some pretty great perks so you’ll be more likely to care for yourself more often. The membership includes up to 40% off spa services, including complimentary B12 shots, a monthly shampoo and blow out, and more. As a member, you can also enjoy some services free each month, like the jet peel facial or a 60-minute massage with a Thai foot massage.
Our spa day started with a hot stone massage with the one and only Mare, Re’s longtime massage therapist who has a cult following around Charlotte. Her skill and wide-ranging techniques (like the use of Ashiatsu, where the feet are used as a tool) make her a must-see for anyone looking for a truly stellar massage.
Next up after the hour-long massage was a facial complete with tailored skincare, dermaplaning, a jet peel, and high frequency. The aesthetician provided lots of information and support, explaning each step and application for continued care and skin health.
The final stop upstairs in the spa was a quick visit to one of the NP’s who administered a B12 shot, a practically painless way to replenish levels of the vitamin used to give you more energy and boost metabolism.
Finally, we left the quiet spa to head downstairs, where the buzzing, bright salon awaits. A nourishing shampoo and conditioning treatment was next, followed by a quick, breezy blowout. The whole shebang took just around four hours, but was totally, blissfully restorative and rejuvenating, while also completely safe and standardized with all precautions observed.
