While the holidays are long gone, Blowing Rock is still celebrating the season with their annual Winterfest event.
From January 26th through the 29th, this four day annual event is located throughout the town and includes everything from ice carving demonstrations to the Snowflake Parade and the Polar Plunge. This year marks their nineteenth Winterfest, and includes a new event: the Ice Stroll. On Friday night enjoy walking through town and looking at lighted ice-sculptures. Even local restaurants are getting into the winter spirit by featuring special winter “comfort food.”
If you’re looking to spend the night, multiple hotels and resorts in Blowing Rock are offering value packages, including Chetola Resort at Blowing Rock and The Inn at Crestwood. Two favorite events are still continuing, the Winterfest event (prepared by Blowing Rock’s best chefs), and the Winterfest Beer Garden and Chili Challenge. Fun for the whole family, take this weekend to drive a couple hours to Blowing Rock and enjoy the winter festivities.
