Our pick for the can’t-miss event of this weekend is the South End Gallery Crawl.
The first Friday of every month, you can take a self-guided tour through the area of the city that houses the largest concentration of art galleries in Charlotte.
These galleries are exhibiting some of the finest art in the city, and the crawl itself adds extra fun by featuring live music, craft beer, and food trucks. Better yet – it’s an entirely free activity for anyone to enjoy.
Participating galleries (and the occasional shop or cafe) stay open late to host receptions for new exhibits and provide an opportunity for crawl-goers to meet the artists. You can expect everything from sculpture to jewelry, mosaics, and paintings.
Check the blog and the calendar a few days before the Gallery Crawl for more specific information about participating locations, hours, and new shows.
