We all know the power and tenacity of a woman is unmatched, so when a group of women come together for a great cause, the results are nothing short of astounding. There’s no better demonstration of this, maybe, than this past Sunday’s Fête Fashion Show and Brunch at the Ritz Carlton.
The event, a joint venture between owners of Good Life Couture Events, Robbie McNair-Guzman and Michael Ann Gosby, and swimwear designer Italie Murphy, was sponsored by Bank of America and Spoke Hub.
The event was inspired by an idea Robbie had; she wanted to bring a different type of experience to the Queen City.
What goes together better than fashion, food, and great music? It is that excitement, and camaraderie of folks coming together and creating this unique experience.
“The team of Good Life Couture Events and Italie Murphy wanted to create a concept that was very different and unique. They wanted to bring some culture and arts to tournament-goers as well as folks in the Charlotte area. So what goes together better than fashion, food, and great music?” media connoisseur Laresa Thompson shared.
The women didn’t just see the idea to fruition, they made it an event to remember, setting a new bar for events in the Queen City. This highly anticipated, sold-out, star-studded event featured a decadently catered brunch, beautifully crafted dessert bars full of treats for all guests, a custom photo booth by Snap in The City, and each VIP premium brunch ticket-holder received a complimentary personalized chic sketch illustration and Rucker Roots $30 value gift bag. Each table was exquisitely decorated with eye-catching floral settings and custom lien.
The event also featured Fashion Bomb Daily’s Claire Sulmers, a special guest appearance by rapper Fabolous, and guest speaker Tiffany N. Eubanks of Bank of America.
The fashion show included designs from: House of Chic LA, Rich Girl Candy, PRSVR, Decordon, Ms. Bling Miami, Ellemari Collection, Italie Murphy’s Made In Italie Swimwear, and local luxury brand Nyoni Couture to name a few. Each captivating look on the runway was curated by renowned celebrity stylist Charity Luvs—who was also heavily involved in the event, even managing to secure many of Fête’s celebrity appearances.
In the spirit of collaboration and community, part of the proceeds from the event went to the Glitter Foundation, an organization dedicated to bringing awareness to epilepsy. With the event turning out to be such a success the women are already planning for next year’s show.
This event was a true illustration of the essence of comradery and seeing a dream through to fruition. There are people who aspire and there are people who inspire; the women behind the Fête Fashion and Brunch somehow manage to be both.
