Hello, Sailor’s tiki-ness may be the cornerstone of the drink menu, but cocktails like the Subterranean Spritz insist that rum isn’t the only liquor here deserving of attention. Carbonated with lime La Croix, sweetened with agave, and accented with key lime and smoked pineapple, the Spritz is definitely a vodka drink… but one that knows how to dress up its liquor base.
Falernum lays on the additional Caribbean flavors, resulting in a drink that’s easy sipping yet decidedly unlike the tiki beverages dominating the menu. Make no mistake, this tropical beaut is for those lovers of warm weather who make it their business to avoid rum drinks. Having just recently tried this Spritz outside for the first time, taking in the lake views from Sailor’s breezy deck, I can’t say I blame them.
